সেলিনা হোসেন বাংলাদেশের একজন প্রখ্যাত ঔপন্যাসিক। সেলিনা হোসেন-এর জন্ম ১৪ই জুন ১৯৪৭। রাজশাহী শহর। পিতা এ কে মোশাররফ হোসেন রেশমশিল্প কারখানার পরিচালক ছিলেন। মাতার নাম মরিয়মন্নেসা বকুল। ষাটের দশকের মধ্যভাগে রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পড়ার সময়ে লেখালেখির সূচনা। সেই সময়ের লেখা নিয়ে প্রথম গল্পগ্রন্থ উৎস থেকে নিরন্তর প্রকাশিত হয় ১৯৬৯ সালে। সেলিনা হোসেনের লেখার জগৎ বাংলাদেশের মানুষ, সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্য। বেশ কয়েকটি উপন্যাসে তিনি বাংলার লোক-পুরাণের উজ্জ্বল চরিত্রসমূহকে নতুনভাবে তুলে আনেন। তাঁর উপন্যাসে প্রতিফলিত হয়েছে সমকালের সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক দ্বন্দ্ব-সংকটের সামগ্রিকতা, বাঙালির অহংকার, ভাষা আন্দোলন ও মুক্তিযুদ্ধের প্রসঙ্গ। জীবনের গভীর উপলব্ধির প্রকাশকে তিনি শুধু কথাসাহিত্যের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ রাখেননি, শাণিত ও শক্তিশালী গদ্যের নির্মাণে প্রবন্ধের আকারেও উপস্থাপন করেছেন। তাঁর কণ্ঠ কথাসাহিত্যে এবং প্রবন্ধে নির্ভীক।
