কবি সরোয়ার ইমরান মাহমুদ (মেজর, অবসরপ্রাপ্ত) ১৯৭১ সালের ১৮ নভেম্বর নেত্রকোনা জেলায় এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে মাতুতালয়ে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। ঢাকা মহানগরীতে বেড়ে ওঠা। তার আদিবাড়ি ব্রাম্মনবাড়িয়া জেলায়। তিনি মতিঝিল আইডিয়াল হাই স্কুল থেকে এসএসসি এবং আদমজী ক্যান্টনমেন্ট কলেজ থেকে এইচএসসি পরীক্ষায় কৃতিত্বের সাথে উর্ত্তীন্ন হন। ১৯৯৩ থেকে ২০১০ সাল পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীতে কমিশন্ড অফিসার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। পরবর্তীতে স্বেচ্ছায় সেনাবাহিনী থেকে অবসর গ্রহণ করে নিজেকে একজন সফল ব্যবসায়ী হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন। ইস্ট ওয়েস্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে ব্যবসায় প্রশাসনে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। ভ্রমন তার শখ। এ পর্যন্ত ইরাক, কুয়েত, সিয়েরালিওন, যুক্তরাজ্য,ভারত,নেপাল,থাইল্যান্ড, মালয়শিয়া এবং সিংগাপুর ভ্রমন করেছেন। ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে তিনি বিবাহিত এবং এক কন্যা সন্তানের জনক। "Tears and Poems" তাঁর প্রকাশিত প্রথম কাব্যগ্রন্থ।
